Play Away the Gay -- Sex Toys for Prisoners in Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe senator asks for ‘sex gadgets’ to stop prisoners turning gay

via Pink News (Pink News):

Senator Sithembile Mlotshwa, has told a parliamentary committee in Zimbabwe that prisoners becoming gay because they don't have “sex gadgets” and special rooms would help them stay straight.

She said: “In other countries they provide sex gadgets and have constructed rooms where people go and service themselves when the desire arises.”

Another minister suggested it might be hard to secure funding for sex toys and special rooms when they were struggling to feed inmates.

She replied: “We can’t say we don’t have the money to feed them as people can stay without food. They want sexual desires to be satisfied whether you like it or not.”

Homosexuality and Law: An Alphabet -- Dominican Republic

  Dominican Republic, Caribbean

Homosexuality in the Dominican Republic is legal, by national law. The age of consent is equalized regardless of sexual orientation to 18. Still, major discrimination against LGBT folks is rampant.

This is mainly caused by the powerful influence of the Roman Catholic Church in the country's secular affairs.

Although homosexuality is not generally accepted, it is protected by law.  Hate crimes are rare because existing law requires prosecution.  Nevertheless, requests to assemble, march, or demonstrate as a group are routinely denied by local or national authorities.

It is also widely believed that all homosexuals are pedophiles, and a danger to morality.
